Why I'm Running

These are exciting times — and demanding ones.

I grew up in Burlington, graduated from Burlington Public Schools following three generations of my family, and it has been an honor to spend the past 15 years serving the city I love on the Burlington City Council, including as City Council President. I have also served on several statewide boards appointed by both Democratic and Republican governors.

At a time when Vermont faces complex fiscal challenges, we need experienced leaders who can navigate budgets while advocating for working Vermonters, young families, seniors on fixed incomes, and the businesses and nonprofits that strengthen our communities. We must balance these needs while ensuring Vermont remains welcoming and inclusive.

If elected, I would be the only CPA in the Vermont House. My background in finance and public service has prepared me to bring a practical, transparent, and accountable approach to the State House in service of our community.

My first priority will be listening to you. Vermont faces important decisions on education, affordability, taxation, land use, economic development, data privacy, and the state budget. With significant leadership changes in the legislature, the next biennium will require experienced, collaborative leaders who can build relationships, solve problems, and deliver results.

I'm running because I care deeply about our community and believe thoughtful, experienced leadership can make a real difference. If elected, I will be ready to contribute from day one, bringing a practical, solutions-focused approach to the challenges ahead and working to strengthen Vermont while making the most of our limited resources. I would be honored to earn your support.
